Voices of the Day: Skizzy Mars

Skizzy Mars, the very young but increasingly popular Manhattan-based rapper, brings us a little fan appreciation with Another World. This track is quite the ride, with a stylized progression that propels it along. Skizzy Mars' lazy flow reminds me a bit of Kid Cudi (one of my favorites) and the psychedellic-indie-pop beat (sampled from the Chemical Brothers) is a great basis for his vocals.

Voices of the Day: Skizzy Mars

I'm quickly becoming a fan of New York's own 18 year-old underground, Skizzy Mars. Dropping his latest track, Together, yesterday, Skizzy showcases a laid back flow over a seemingly Ratatat influenced beat. Listing influences that vary from Kanye to Beirut, it's apparent that this young rapper will continue making waves in the build up to his debut mixtape, Phases, set to drop this fall.
