Ready for some mind games? A new artist on my radar, Danimal Lector, dropped this track, If It Bleeds I Can Kill It feat. Chris Webby, today. It's the first leak off this music student's fast approaching mixtape, Pipe Dreams, set to be released 11.11.11. (very auspicious).
The track is not exactly your usual lighthearted frat-rap; Danimal Lector breaks out lyrics from a "mind as dark as a rainy day". It's an interesting change of pace, a track that doesn't beat around the bush and allows these rappers to showcase their lyrical dexterity. D. Lector's aggressive, hard-hitting beat and stylistic flow shows his roots with listed influences like Eminem, Wu-Tang, and Royce Da 5'9". The mixtape is coming up soon, I'm definitely interested to see more from this rapper.
