Voices of the Day: Mac Miller

I had to come back with something good. Consider this a Voices of the Day and an Unheard Undergrad Feature all in one.

Mac Miller may not be on the fast track toward college, but his music has definitely hit the college music scene pretty hard. Right out of high school, Mac Miller who used to go by Easy Mac, dove right into his music dropping his mixtape K.I.D.S., with tracks that exploded on the scene like Kool Aid and Frozen Pizza and Nikes On My Feet.

I will admit I was not a fan of Mac Miller when he first came out. I appreciated his style, as a I appreciate a good lyrical flow and clutch punch lines, but just couldn't get with it. This mixtape has definitely got me on the bandwagon. It's executed so smoothly, Mac Miller raps on upbeat instrumentals without forcing an upbeat flow. There's a clear progression from what Mac Miller used to be, which wasn't bad to begin with.

Here's a video interview with Mac Miller and his take on his music.

Mac Miller just put out his mixtape Best Day Ever, as in maybe 45 minutes ago, after his track Donald Trump went platinum in under a week. So download that and check out his track Donald Trump. Mac Miller and Wiz (Taylor Gang over everythingggg), both from Pittsburgh, are due to come to Lehigh in April for the Green Carpet Tour, and this has without a doubt made these next couple of weeks of waiting ridiculously painful. I can't wait to bump to Donald Trump.
