Voices of the Day: AER

First and foremost, I want to apologize for the lack of consistency of my posts. As you know, the semester's over and it's summer time, which is by no means an excuse. But I will get back on my game as soon as I get resettled and get my summer plans in line.

But let's get to business.

Aer is no stranger to the Unheard Undergrad scene, though still in high school I feel that they deserve Undergrad notoriety, whatever that really entails.

In the words of another Unheard Undergrad, OnCue, College rap is slowly deprecating as quickly as it rose.

"Don't tell me you fall for that scholar rap, Whatever you call it, Richy rich rapping about beer pong. It won't be here long and if it is load the 9 milli to my temple."

-It Usually Goes; OnCue

The measure of an artist that will continue to succeed, as I've mentioned time and time again, is the determination of that artist to attempt to create music suitable for audiences with a musical ear that is much more sophisticated than just your average college kid.

Not that there's anything wrong with your average college kid, considering I am one.

However, Aer, not yet in college, is a duo that drops a breezy and laid back flow on a chill summery reggae beat. It's a perfect blend of reggae and hip hop.

Fortunately, for your Summer playlists, Aer just dropped a new mixtape; The Reach.

The mixtape dropped just in time for Summer '11, and guarantees you debonair tracks suitable for any L ride, trip to the beach or a chill road trip.

I will also include one of my favorite tracks off the mixtape; Lights (Can You Keep It)
