I'll admit that I have some musical obsessions that are a bit off the beaten path, but what is music if it doesn't allow you to be and love exactly what you want to? In the discovery of this masterful track, I can solidify my love for Australian rap with my longstanding appreciation of The Black Keys. In my opinion, it is very rare to find a cover that can actually improve upon (or at least live up to) an original, but Phrase achieved this feat. Phrase, an award winning artist on the Australian hip hop scene, merges The Black Keys' blues and alternative with his own verses. While maintaining the almost iconic melody and Tighten Up hook, Phrase's rapping adds an edge to the original to create a track that's difficult to categorize. Even without placement in a certain genre, the song is unquestionably good music. Obsess away friends:
