Back again

Hey...maybe I'll start writing again. Why not?

I might have been inspired by this video, or maybe this experience, from Arcade Fire: http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/

Yes, it asks for your home address. Don't hesitate, the internet knows everything about you anyway, and it's so worth it. I have to say it was almost an emotional experience, and it was a literal trip down memory lane. I don't think I can describe any further, you've just gotta give it a try.

It's a sweet, kind of hollow song too. There's a feeling of space and atmosphere that Arcade Fire creates quite well. They definitely capitalize on our nostalgic emotional pressure point. It's wonderful.

Voices of the Day: Avicii

Hi blogosphere (yes, I said it). I'm trying to keep up with Unheard Undergrad these days, but with about 7 papers and 2 weeks left of school staring at me, I may be out of commission for a while. I hope you'll be held over with the official video for Avicii's anthem of the semester, Levels. As finals approach and the coffee begins to flow, take a minute to watch this little dude go ham in his office, which is what I feel like doing in the library. It's been an Avicii themed semester, with Levels as that song that everyone rocks out to the hardest as it comes on the party playlist. The song is sampled on countless mashups and generally revered by college students across the board. Finally we see the artist's somewhat startling, old school trippy, representation of this electro masterpiece; watch and enjoy.

Voices of the Day: The Dean's List

"Pop a bottle for the girl with no boyfriend, drink it all, we don't care we'll just order more again. Light a blunt for the team cuz we're all here. Take a hit and make a hit, n*#%a this is our year."

The Dean's List
presents their Burn It All music video, off their mixtape, The Drive In. The video gives you exactly the aesthetic appeal you'd expect for this kind of a song; cue the red solo cups, keg stands and inflatable crowd surfing monkey. Nothing unexpected, but still good.

... except for the random girl taking up the whole screen. Pretty sure we saw her more than we saw Mendoza.

The song's a personal favorite of mine off the tape, so if you haven't already make sure you download The Drive In.
