Voices of Loyola University Maryland: Trey Palms

Sophomore at Loyola University Maryland, Trey Palms just put out a single featuring The Dream, called Ever Since.

Trey Palms is relatively new to the college rap game. He's currently working on his sophomore project.

His first mixtape, While You Were Sleeping (DL), included tracks like In Your Eyes featuring Timeflies and My Way In.

First thoughts when I heard his mixtape; Palms kind of sounds like Paul Wall. Second thought; though there's clearly a lot of potential, it doesn't seem like Palms has developed his lyrical flow well enough.

It seems too forced. His tracks weren't bad at all though, once again, so much potential.

His new track, Ever Since, is a feel good song. I think it shows a lot of improvement. He slows his flow down to match the beat making it a pretty good song for the college rap scene.

Palms is definitely shooting for that mainstream audience while he has the voice and the potential flow for a more eclectic audience. He might need to figure all that out before he can get any better and progress any further.

But regardless, check his facebook out, and follow his progress.
