Welcome to the first step in Brooklyn-based producer, Alan Wilkis' project called PRINTS. The project is composed of successive installments of "singles, remixes, videos and artwork" where Wilkis collaborates with a number of different artists and vocalists. He writes the instrumentals and allows creative freedom to his collaborators, designed to push all involved "out of their comfort zones". Come and Go, the first single released on PRINTS features Alex Fitts of the garage-alternative band; The Kickdrums.
The track is driven by a vacillating, bass-heavy beat that seems simultaneously slow and uptempo (if that's possible, just give it a listen). It gets a rock-band feel from Fitts' vocals, but maintains an eclectic style that plants it solidly between genres. Come and Go is the start of Wilkis' plan to make music that brings extremes together harmoniously. It's definitely a success in that respect, as well an interesting and captivating listen, there will definitely be more updates to come on PRINTS.
